Writing Freelance
New web writers will often hear potential clients talk about keywords, keyphrases and keyword density in web articles. The most common request is for you to write an article that has a keyword density of 2% - 3% and they will expect you to know what that means!
It can be confusing at first, but it's really not too difficult.
What is a Keyword?
It all boils down to Google - and other search engines. A keyword is a word that someone types into a Google search. Think about the last time you searched for something. Perhaps your search led you here: Using words like 'Freelance Writing' or a question like 'What is a Keyword' gave you a result that means you are reading this page.
It's exactly the same when you write a web article. A client of yours will have something to say to his or her potential customers, and the only way to say it is to be found on the web. Your client will have done some research to figure out the most common words that are used by his or her potential customers. Now your client has given you those keywords and it is your job to include them in the article you write.
