Freelancer Patch Unofficial
It used to be that freelance writers had to dig through piles of old books at the library to do research for an article. Today, writers can immediately become connected to experts through sites that provide sources for interview subjects, research information, and professionals. Here are a few places writers can check for information.
Freelance Writing Media Sources
Help a Reporter Out (HARO) provides writers with free email alerts three times a day. The emails contain requests from media professionals (reporters and freelancers alike) who ask for experts for an article, interview, or spot on a TV or radio show.
This site provides information both ways, so writers can receive requests (and thus get additional opportunities to promote their area of expertise) or they can send out a request to others. Various topics are covered, from sports and lifestyle to business and education.
